My relatives are buried there somewhere Andrew and Robert Settlemoyer/Settlemoyer. I am hoping their mother Martha is also there so I can find a death date.

Hello! I am a direct descendent of a daughter of Orinn Fobes and Carolyn, Alice Florence Fobes who with James Wilson or Wilson james Sweet had many children one of whom was my maternal grandfather, Harold Sidney Sweet. Are those letters in your posession? I just recently found the parents and siblings of Orinn and Carolyn and so amy very interested in that limb of the family tree. Cathy Fuller Sizer

I'm looking for my great great grandfather, he was a revolutionary soldier.

It would be helpful if you could put the unidentified photos in a gallery. I have to click each individual blog post, then click the photo to enlarge so I can see faces. I stopped looking after the 3rd blog post. I am disabled and it is just too difficult to sit and go through each post. A simpler method would be greatly appreciated.

The information you put online is a blessing for me, as I cannot travel because of my health. I appreciate everything you do and all the information you put online! Thanks for your consideration in this matter! :)

Thanks for the efforts to post Edgewood Cemetery. It, no doubt, is a daunting project simply due to the size of the cemetery. Funny story - my wife and I stomped the cemetery searching for my great grandparents Andrew and Mathilda Kivela. We were there for hours and finally we got to the last section and looked up and saw the Finnish flag. We looked at each other and just started laughing. Sure enough Grandpa and Grandma were right there in the Finnish section. As the saying goes - stupid is what stupid does. We have since learned to get a lay of the land when we enter an unfamiliar cemetery. I guess the other old saying that fits here is "you always find what you are looking for in the last place that you look". Thanks again for your efforts.

You know, I never really thought about that before... something I probably should find out!

Cold Springs was a summer resort on the Grand River in Austinburg Twp. (Cork Cold Sping Rd.) This is a rough guess but, I think it was in operation from about 1887 to 1903 maybe, when at that point he retired & his son Carlton W. Payne opened up a resort called River Grove located on the South end, east side of Tote Rd. which operated into the 40's I think?
Orlando's nephew Earnest H. Payne also operated a 30- 40ft. steam boat called The Steamer Geneva & gave tours up & down the Grand River during the season. I'll try to post some photo's.

I recall seeing this photo yrs. ago when I started researching. My GGG-Grandparents Orlando A. & Armenia (Wolcott) Payne owned & operated Cold Springs. It's a shame none of my older relatives are no longer living, it's very possible they could've identified this man? Have to wonder why he was there too?
